Shoe Boxes in 2012

This year was special!  We broke the record again and packed 209 Shoe Box gifts for underprivileged kids who will receive them along with the truth of God's love.  This year I spent time helping granddaughter Camille (age 4) pack the shoeboxes.  She would say, "I think the little girl would like this." and we'd put it in the box.  Once I asked if she'd like to pack for a boy.  She looked at me kind of funny and then said, "OK."  We packed 4 boxes for 4-year-olds before she wore out.   Later she came back down with me and packed a few more.  I can just about imagine how fun it would have been for Dede to watch.  I'm so thankful for the legacy and so glad that my sisters and brother are keeping it going!

EnJOY Life while you have it!

I recently lost my Mom. She went to heaven on February 6th and I miss her. During the last month of her life I helped care for her in the hospital. She was still planning things she could do for others all the way up to the end of her life. I hope it's that way for me too. I want to do as many things as I can to help others and I hope my life will be a testimony for good to everyone who knows me.

Recently I've thought how great it would be to write a book about her life. She had so much fun! I need encouragement for that though. So I will need some nagging from others if I'm going to get that done.
